Hi I'm Gil and this is my blog about the t.v. show Lost. I am a complete newbie to the show and started posting after watching the 20th episode, "Do No Harm". I started watching because over the years I had heard so much about the show...it was crazy, people would throw Lost season premier parties, talk incessantly about the episodes, it was (is?) definitely a phenomenon. I never got into it though, simply not having the time or inclination to start watching. Besides, I had been told that if you had not started watching from the beginning you would have no idea what was going on. Fair enough.
Then I heard that the series is wrapping up in 2010. It's summer time, I have a netflix account and plenty of time so I figured I would start watching...this would give me plenty of time to watch the entire series in time for the final season.
I have a friend who is well-versed with Lost. Actually "well-versed" is an understatement- more like super-scary encyclopedic knowledge of the show is more like it...and during the first part of the pilot episode I started texting my insights and comments about what was happening as things were unfolding. She found these to be quite humorous..more likely she found my naivete of the show to be humorous, but whatever. Other people found these "insights" to be entertaining as well, and they found that they could kind of re-live their first time watching the show through our conversations. So I figured why not start keeping track, writing it down? Why not?
A couple of things- first and foremost, if it has not become painfully clear to you by now- I am NOT a writer by any stretch of the imagination. I do not own a style guide. Hell I wouldn't even know what to do with a style guide. So you'll have to bear with me and my grammar and spelling mistakes, also if it seems as though I'm just writing and not filtering what I'm saying- it's because I'm not. Also, beware if you've never watched the show- this thing is lousy with spoilers. :) Enjoy!
